By accessing or using GistPad.com, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to comply with applicable laws. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the service.
1. About GistPad
GistPad.com is a platform for creating, storing, and sharing text, source code, logs, notes, configuration files, and other text-based content through the internet.
GistPad may provide features including syntax highlighting, paste expiration, different sharing options, AI-assisted title and tag suggestions, automated content checks, and developer API access.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By visiting the website, creating an account, creating a paste, using the API, or otherwise using GistPad, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you are using GistPad on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on that organization's behalf.
3. Accounts
Some GistPad features may be available without an account, while account-based features may require registration.
Accurate Information
When creating an account, you should provide information that is accurate and keep relevant account information up to date.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account.
Unauthorized Access

4. User Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit to GistPad, subject to the rights and licenses necessary for us to operate the service.
License to operate the service
By submitting content, you grant GistPad a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
This license does not transfer ownership of your content to GistPad.
5. Public and Shared Content
You are responsible for understanding the visibility setting you choose before publishing a paste.
Public
Public pastes may be viewed and discovered by other users.
Unlisted
An unlisted paste is intended to be accessed through its link. Do not treat an unlisted URL as a substitute for encryption.
Password Protected
A password-protected paste requires the configured password before access is granted.
6. Acceptable Use
You may use GistPad only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You must not use GistPad to:
- Upload or distribute unlawful content.
- Upload content that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, destructive code, or intentionally malicious scripts.
- Distribute phishing links, credential-stealing content, scams, or fraudulent material.
- Send spam or use the service for abusive automated activity.
- Attempt unauthorized access to GistPad, its infrastructure, API, accounts, or another user's content.
- Probe, scan, interfere with, overload, or disrupt the service without authorization.
- Attempt to bypass security, moderation, rate limits, access controls, or abuse-prevention mechanisms.
- Use GistPad to facilitate illegal activity.
7. Prohibited Security Activity
Security research must not be used as a justification for unauthorized access or disruption of GistPad or other users.
You may not exploit vulnerabilities, access systems or accounts without authorization, interfere with service availability, or intentionally circumvent security controls.
8. Copyright & Intellectual Property
You are responsible for ensuring that your submissions do not infringe the intellectual-property rights of others.
If you believe content hosted on GistPad infringes your copyright or other rights, you may contact us with sufficient information for the matter to be reviewed.
GistPad may remove or restrict content where appropriate or where required by applicable law.
9. Content Moderation
GistPad may use automated systems and human review to identify, restrict, or remove content that violates these Terms or presents security, abuse, or legal risks.
Spam Detection
Automated systems may identify spam and abusive submissions.
Link & Safety Checks
Submitted content may be checked for phishing or potentially harmful links.
Manual Review
Reports and other moderation matters may be reviewed by the GistPad team.
10. AI Features
GistPad may use AI-assisted systems to provide certain features, including title suggestions, tag recommendations, and automated detection of spam or potentially harmful links.
Important
AI-generated suggestions or detections may not always be accurate. They should not be treated as a guarantee that content is safe, accurate, lawful, or free from malicious material.
11. Paste Expiration & Deletion
GistPad allows users to select expiration settings for pastes. Once a paste expires, it may be permanently deleted from the service.
Do not use an expiration setting as a guarantee that a copy of content cannot exist elsewhere. Recipients may copy, download, cache, or otherwise retain information that you share.
12. API Terms
Developers using the GistPad API must comply with these Terms, the API documentation, and any applicable rate limits or technical restrictions.
- Use API credentials securely.
- Do not share API credentials publicly.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access to API endpoints.
- Do not abuse, overload, or circumvent API rate limits.
- Do not use the API to violate these Terms or applicable law.
13. Privacy
Your use of GistPad is also subject to our Privacy Policy , which explains how information may be collected, used, stored, and processed.

14. Service Availability

15. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GistPad is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
GistPad does not guarantee that user-generated content is accurate, complete, reliable, lawful, safe, or available for a particular purpose.
